Young KwaThema soccer players selected during Sundowns trials

Three senior players in the Ayob Yo Academy make it during the Sundowns trials in Tshwane.

KwaThema – Ayoba Yo Academy soccer players were selected during the Sundowns Trials in Tshwane last weekend.

Annually young soccer players flock to Hatfield to show-off their soccer skills with the hope of impressing the coaches.

This year it was not different. The African champions were conducting trails in all age groups.

Young boys from and around Gauteng assembled at Clapham High School for a chance to be signed by soccer giant’s Sundowns Football Club.

Ayoba Yo Academy founder Innocent Mayoyo says he always encourages young boys to take every opportunity they get and run with it for glory.

“Not every child could attend the trials so they must do their best to be selected.

“Even if they don’t get selected, the experience of playing at this level will be beneficial to them when we get back home,” he says.

Innocent says he is happy that six boys from his academy were selected.

“This shows that we are putting in the hard work to groom the young boys to become better soccer players who will one day represent the country.

“I am proud to confirm that Lesego ‘sisi’ Sibano from the Sasol Ladies team, Bongane ‘Nduluka’Sedikela was selected for the u-19 and Sfiso ‘Mr Reliable’Masango made the cut.

Mayoyo says this is an amazing opportunity for the boys and he hopes they will make the best of it.

Teenage Dladla, another one of KwaThema’s finest soccer legends says he lends his support to the boys and looks forward to more talent being unearthed in Kwatsaduza.
