Equipment to help local athletes

KwaThema - The KwaThema Disability Sports Academy is grateful after having recently received a donation of brand new sporting equipment.

The team received the donation of the goods on January 25.

According to chairman of the academy, Aubrey Mathibela this was all made possible by the Gauteng Department of Sports.

“The equipment was handed to those teams who have been performing well.

“We are truly grateful for this as it will help in training our athletes and improving their standards.

“Ten athletes from our group have also been selected to join high performance centres. On Saturday, they will be going to perform at Germistion Stadium in preparation of upcoming national competitions,” he says.

Mathibela thanks the department for thinking of them and helping to find better ways to improve the training and performance of their athletes so they can compete locally and internationally.
