The festivities kicked off with a friendly game played between Future Stars and Reedville FC.
The game ended in a 3-1 victory for Future Stars.
All the players were awarded medals for participating in the game, while the top five players of the previous season were announced and handed trophies.

The top five performers included:
• Player of the season – Sihle Mashiane
• Best defender – Tshepo Makaleni
• Best middle fielder – Minenhle Mashinini
• Best striker – Lindokuhle Mavuso
• Best goal scorer – Ntokozo Mahlangu
Co-owner of the team Refilwe Lente explains that the friendly game was to help the boys get ready for the new season. Meanwhile, the awards ceremony was conducted to help motivate the players and to show appreciation for all their hard work.

“We are very excited about this team, which is just over a year old.
“The top players were selected from last year’s performance by the coaches and management team,
“The purpose of starting this club with my sister, Sonto Mahlangu, was to help groom and identify talented boys who we can hopefully assist in getting into the good clubs in the country.
“We are passionate about development soccer,” she says.
