Young athletes bring home medals

Tsakane - Seven young boxers from the Bigger Walker Boxing Club recently competed in a tournament hosted at Boksburg's Tony Green Hall.

The young local athletes did well, with five winning their matches – while only two lost.

“I’m happy with the performance of the boxers as they did very well,” shares coach Charles Mtshali.

“Thokozani Mavuso and Fani Mnguni lost due to minor mistakes, which can be fixed. The winners comprised of Bokang Mosieleng, Nhlanhla Mtshali, Junior Constable, Motlatsi Mosieleng and Sibusiso Tshabalala.”

He says this shows that his boxers are ready for next year, as they’ll be preparing to compete in various competitions and championships.

Mtshali thanks everyone who’s assisted the club financially, ensuring that these boxers are able to go and compete in tournaments.

“We still invite any boxers between eight and 40 years to come and join the club.

“However, we’re only looking for people who’ll be serious about the sport, work hard and lift the name of Kwatsaduza,” he adds.
