Kwanele Nkabinde (17) fought in the Youth Division, at a tournament which was hosted at the Boksburg Boxing Club on Saturday.
And in his fight against opponent, Banele Mabuza (17) from the Mabuza Boxing Academy, also based in Tsakane, the boxer won on points in the third round.

“Though there were 18 boxing clubs represented, there were still not enough boxers as some young people weren’t present due to the exam period.
“From our three boxers who went with including Luvhimbi Luchiwani (22) and Bongani Nzima (12), only Nkabinde scored a last fight for the year.
“The young man did very well and I am very proud of him,” says coach Lwazi Xundu.
He adds that for someone who only joined the club earlier this year, Nkabinde is doing exceptionally well.

“As as coach I have been happy with my boxers’ performances over the year, as they have showed great discipline.
“They know that in the ring they must fight like soldiers and are always ready and up for the challenge,” he adds.
Xundu thanks the parents for ensuring that their children are actively taking part in sports and the Greater Brakpan Taxi Association for their help with equipment and all their support.
The coach believes that next year will be an even better year with more achievements.
