Victory for Mambas

Kwatsaduza – A dismal attempt from Skomboys saw them lose against Mambas in their Tsamaya League soccer match on Sunday.

The challenging encounter took place at the Legacy Ground in KwaThema Extension Two.

That was after games were moved from the Tlakula Ground, due to the wet field being unsuitable for the weekend games.

Pule Mphahlele of Skomboys missed a free kick that could have resulted in a goal early in the game.

That was followed shortly by Mambas’ Tefo Nyambose also missing a shot on target.

From then onwards, it seemed to be a downward spiral for Skomboys, as they battled to apply pressure in the remainder of first stanza.

Skomboys seemed to be opting to defend rather than attack, while Mambas missed numerous shots at their target.

By half time, no goals had been registered.

Five minutes into the second half and it remained evident that Mambas were hungry to take the lead.

That was followed shortly by a goal from their Albert Zulu.

A few minutes later and Sipho Tshabalala extended the Mambas lead even further, scoring the second goal for his side.

As Mambas kept aiming for the goal post, Skomboys just seemed to be fading away from the challenge.

And at the end of 94 minutes, the game ended in a 2-0 victory for Mambas.
