Moagi represents team SA
KwaThema - Local athlete Moeketsi 'Sparks' Moagi (47) is representing the country in Australia.
He is currently competing in the World Masters Athletics 8km cross-country and 3 000m steeplechase.

“I am representing team South Africa and am the only athlete from the East Rand who has made it to the selection.
“This came after I competed at the SA Champs at Pilditch Stadium in Tshwane in May, where all provinces were there and I qualified.
“I am very happy and hopeful representing South Africa and thank you to the team, MMC of Sports Clr Dorah Mlambo and the company which assisted me with sponsorship,” he says.
The athlete adds that since training prior to his departure went well, including intense speed and endurance training, he hopes that the months of preparation will pay off and that he can win a gold medal.
