Tornado Lions start league on high note

KwaThema – As the Springs Local Football Association League officially started on Saturday, Tornado Lions were all business.

The u/13 team played their first match at the KwaThema Sports Complex against Sanders.

And in the early minutes of the game they had managed to take a 3-0 lead after Gugulethu Ndlovu scored two goals and Musa Mlungwane scored one.

At 35 minutes of this half, Sanders player Banele Nkosi registered the first goal for his team.

But 10 minutes before the end of this stanza Tornado was awarded a penalty which was missed by Zamokuhle Sikhosana.

The second part of the match remained a thriller for supporters with the lads showing great fighting spirit.

And within 10 minutes, Sanders’ Musa Sibanyoni was also awarded a penalty he also missed after the ball was caught by goalkeeper of Tornado, Mzuvukile Gcilitshana.

This pushed the team to try even harder to score and shortly after a goal from Tornado’s Ndumiso Xawuka came through.

Sanders player Thuto Rantsabe, not wanting to be left out, followed suit scoring a goal which came after his teammate Musa Sibanyoni hit the crossbar.

The match ended at a score line of 4-2 to Tornado.
