World XI fight with 10 men on the field

KwaThema – Determined to walk away in victory, Sporo challenged World XI in a Tsamaya League match on Sunday.

The game was played at the Tlakula Ground and kicked off with World XI making their presence felt.

That resulted in an early goal from World XI’s Hendry Nkosi, scored two minutes into the game.

Not letting that little setback shift their focus, Sporo’s fighting spirit resulted in Khaya Buti scoring the equalising goal.

Aubrey Mabona also followed a minute before half time, putting World XI back on top after a careless mistake by the Sporo defenders.

In the second half, Sporo’s George Ngoma put his name on the score sheet first with an equaliser goal.

But as no one wanted to take the walk of shame, World XI’s Thabiso Tsotetsi scored their third goal.

The victory was however short lived, when Sporo’s Mxolisi Nkosi soon equalised again.

As the battle of the two sides continued, World XI’s Aubrey Mabona found himself booted off the field after getting a red card for disagreeing with the referee’s decision – a ruling of an off-side pass by his team.

That caused tension on the field, however the show went on.

World XI managed to hold on until the final whistle blew, ending the game at a 3-3 draw.
