Rekaufela and Sporo play to a draw

KwaThema – Rekaufela and Sporo players braved the cold and wet weather, as they competed in their Tsamaya League match.

The intense game was played at the Tlakula Ground on Sunday.

And within the first few minutes of the game, Rekaufela were intent to make a statement.

About ten minutes into the game Sipho Msimangu of Rekaufela had managed to score the opening goal of the day.

Sporo, seeing the seriousness of the match, worked hard trying to equalise, but missed their chances.

This, however, tested the defence of their opponents as they had to stay alert, to ensure they kept any balls from coming close to their keeper.

As the first stanza moved close to half time, no more goals were scored.

With the kick-off for the second half, Sporo players returned to the ground more composed and seemed to have a new plan in hand.

And moments later, the effortless movements and team work of their strikers awarded James Sithole, with an opportunity to equalise for his team.

From there though both sides attempted to make some shots at goals, their efforts did not materialise.

This left the score line at 1-1 leaving both teams to walk away with one point each.
