Home Sweepers thrash Silver Spears

KwaThema – Springs Home Sweepers punished Vorsloorus based team Silver Spears 5-1 in their Sasol Women's League game.

The two sides played against each other at the KwaThema Stadium on Saturday.

From the blow of the whistle the local side dominated the game, proving they were out to win.

In about 15 minutes of the first half, Twana Shange (27) scored two goals, putting Home Sweepers in the lead.

Silver Spears, who were rattled by this, soon started to crack under the pressure.

In the last few minutes of the first half, Mary Ntsoang (27) made her mark, bagging the third goal for Home Sweepers.

By half time, score remained at 3-0.

As the second stanza began to heat up, Shange put another goal behind the net which soon pushed the opposition to tighten their defense.

Seeing the game slip through their fingers, Belinda Mnguni (24) of Spears was finally able to sneak in a goal for her team.

However, Rennei Radingwane (18) put the final nail in the coffin when she scored the fifth goal for Home Sweepers.
