Zaragoza FC take the cup
Duduza - The Bongani Zungu Tournament drew to an end last Sunday at the Duduza Stadium, where the final matches of the tournament took place.
Real Zaragoza FC from Daveyton were crowned the u/21 champs after beating Meadowlands 5-3 in penalties.
This year the tournament boasted five divisions as opposed to last year when the tournament kicked off.
Organiser of the tournament, Zakhele Zungu, says he is happy that the tournament was a success and their vision of developing young soccer players in townships is happening.
“When we started this tournament, it was solely for development and getting the youth active in soccer, it gives us great pleasure to see how it has expanded to draw the attention of professional scouts and coaches from different football academies.
“Bongani Zungu is also pleased by the work that was done in developing young stars in his community,” he says.
