Total Success represented in tournament
Tsakane – Local boxing club Total Success participated in the Gauteng Development Tournament last Saturday in Randfontein.
Twenty-five clubs were represented at the tournament and two of the Total Success boxers stepped into the ring.
Kwanele Nkabinde (17) from Total Success won on walkover in the bantamweight fight after his opponent Solomon Nykong (17) from Kagiso Boxing Club could no longer sustain the fight.
In the bantamweight elite division, Gibson Luvhimbi (22) of Total Success exchanged punches with Joseph Plaatjies (26) of Booysen Boxing Club, Luvhimbi won on points.
Club coach Lwazi Xundu says he is happy with the success of the boxers as they always do their best in the ring and come back as winners.
“Mental and physical training is crucial in boxing and our boxers take it very seriously and it shows in the many successful fights they have fought.
“I see a promising future in the boys’ boxing careers; they are very committed to the sport,” says the coach.
He says he hopes more boxers may come and join the club.
