Amateur boxers Nkosinathi Makhanya and Sabelo Mzwanzwa represented Geo Maroon in the tournament, where Mzwanzwa defeated his opponent Morishi Mchete.
Makhanya lost in the junior welterweight division.
Coach Themba Zulu says he is very proud of Mzwanzwa, who managed to win against an opponent who has been in the sport longer than him.
“He has improved his skills in the ring and made us at Geo Maroon proud,” adds Zulu.
Total Success’ boxers Zulu Nhlanhla and Gibson Luvhimbi came out victorious in the ring, both winning on points.
Team coach Lwazi Xundu says he is very happy and proud of the boxers’ performance at the tournament, saying he knew they were going to win since they prepared well.
