Ayoba shames Benoni Sports Academy
KwaThema – Ace Auto Ayoba coach, Percy Legodi is happy to secure another point for his team after thrashing Benoni Sports Academy in the SAB League game.
“The game wasn’t easy, but I’m pleased that my players came out and stuck to the strategy we initially planned on,” said the coach.
With only three games left for Ayoba this season, winning all three games will ensure they win the league or take position two.
They are six points behind Tembisa Sports, who are leading.
The two teams clashed in the first stanza as Benoni Sports Academy tried to dominate in the first couple of minutes, knowing that Ayoba is one of the strongest teams in the league.
In their attempts to shame Ayoba, Benoni Sports Academy registered their first goal, putting them in the lead.
Not long after they celebrated their goal, Ayoba’s Mduduzi Methula thumped in an equalising goal for his team.
After an intense first half, the second half was for Ayoba to prove why they are in the top three.
Making no mistake, they wanted to get as many goals in before the visiting team could lead.
Mandla Mthimunye secured a goal and soon after Methula scored the final goal of the match, ending the score in a 3-1 win for Ayoba.
