Boxercise introduced in the community

Sharon Park - Professional boxing trainers and managers, Zakhele Nkosi and Bheki Madonsela are introducing boxercise in the community.

Specialising in professional and amateur boxing, fitness and self-defence, Sheeba Boxercise Gym in Sharon Park is open to train aspiring boxers and community members who want to get fit.

Having worked with one of the best boxing trainers, Nick Durandt, the two trainers are ready to share their expertise with locals.

“Our aim is to introduce boxercise into our community, who have a misconception that boxing is a violent sport,” says Nkosi. “Boxercise is not only about boxing, but fitness and self-defence too.”

Nkosi, who holds a BSA coaching in boxing, says through sports they will be able to curb substance abuse and crime in the community.

“Boxing is not only a physical sport but also a mental sport that teaches boxers the art of being disciplined and focused, which they can also apply to their daily lives,” he adds.

Currently they are renting space from a gym while they seek out space in KwaThema. Aspirant boxers are encouraged to come join the club.

“Anyone can be a part of our club: adults and children with an interest in boxing and fitness training are welcome,” say the trainers.
