Ndlovu shines on the track

Tsakane - Innoce Ndlovu is the new 80m national athletics champion.

The lad from Funukukhanya Primary School, in Tsakane, recently represented Gauteng province, at the National Athletics Championships held in Port Elizabeth.

Ndlovu has made his school and coaches proud by outrunning, and topping, boys of his age in the track race.

“We, at Funukukhanya Primary School, have been producing athletes who have made it right through to the national championship.

“Ndlovu is our first learner who has won at such a level, which makes us very proud of him,” says school principal, Lucia Mbatha.

Mbatha adds that they would like to thank Ndlovu’s trainer, Taj Mukwevho, and Lincoln Semake, for their tireless commitment to train and groom the young athlete.

“We appreciate the sponsors who made it possible for Ndlovu to participate in races,” she says.

“It really takes a nation to raise a child; it doesn’t end here, we will continue to unearth young talent in the future.”
