Coach thanks SAFA

KwaThema - A successfully soccer festival was conducted for young players over the weekend, at the KwaThema Stadium.

This initiative formed part of the practical tests that had to be done by the 35 local coaches who attended their D licence coaching course, in Ekurhuleni, from March 19-21.

According to the regional technical officer of SAFA Ekurhuleni, coach Innocent Mayoyo, the football festival saw about 270 local u/11 and u/13 players participating.

This was done to develop the children and to ensure the coaches put into practice what they had been trained in over the three-day course.

“Thank you to the SAFA education department for rolling out this important licensing to grassroots coaches, to ensure that there is a structured alignment to the SAFA vision of 2022,” says Mayoyo.

“It is also truly humbling seeing the number of local coaches coming forward, wanting to attend these courses, so that they can enhance their skills in the sport and provide better and quality development for our children.”
