No win for Highland

KwaThema - Geluksdal thrashed Highland 4-0 in the Tsamaya League game which took place at the Tlakula Grounds last Sunday.

The loss suffered by Highland came as a shock to supporters as the team was one of the strongest last season.

Geluksdal came onto the field ready to take the lead.

The match was fast-paced, and it didn’t take Geluksdal long to build up their momentum and secure goals in.

Geluksdal striker Benedict Skosana wasted no time to seize the first goal opportunity, which put his team in the lead.

After the first goal Highlands started attacking in hopes for an equaliser but the first half ended with a 1-0 lead to Geluksdal.

Going into the second stanza, Highlands were ready to bring on their A game onto the field but Geluksdal proved to be more prepared for the match.

With just a few passes and dribbling, Andrew Nieuwuenhuizen registered the second for Geluksdal.

Highlands’ defence became stronger as they saw they were faced with a team with a game plan.

But Skosana managed to get in another goal through Highlands’ goalkeeper.

As the second stanza was drawing to a close Highland lost their will to try and equalise, which gave Geluksdal an opportunity to secure the final goal, scored by Nieuwuenhuizen, ending the match with a 4-0 win to Geluksdal.
