RDP off to finals

Tsakane - Last Sunday the Tsamaya League Top Eight second leg semi-finals games took place at the Malandela Grounds where RDP thrashed Verbal Warning 2-0, promoting them to the final round on Sunday.

RDP will be playing for the Top Eight cup and a sheep that will be given to the champions.

Verbal Warning players tried their best to outplay RDP but it proved to be hard as they were very aggressive and in search of goals.

In the first half, RDP showed excellent teamwork as the players dribbled past Verbal Warnings’ defence side in an attempt at the first goal.

RDP’s Bheki Mahlangu managed to score the very first goal of the match, leaving Verbal Warning supporters frustrated.

Verbal Warning tried to equalise before the end of the first half but failed.

Going into the second half both teams came onto the pitch with strategies to score goals in order to proceed to the final round.

Verbal Warning missed a number of opportunities that could have been goals.

Making use of every goal opportunity, RDP’s Freddy Vilakazi nabbed the second goal for his team, extending the lead.

The grounds were intense as Verbal Warning was under pressure to equalise before the end of the match.

But RDP players proved to be more prepared as they didn’t allow any goal to go past them, ending the match in a 2-0 win for them.
