RDP thrash Verbal Warning 2-0

KwaThema – RDP beat Verbal Warning 2-0 on Saturday during the Tsamaya Top Eight Knock Out first leg of the semi-final.

This match was played at the Tlakula Ground in KwaThema and as the whistle blew RDP was more confident in its game plan.

This became evident as within eight minutes, Bheki Mahlangu put into the net the opening goal for RDP.

Verbal Warning’s delay to tighten defence cost it severely at 20 minutes of the first half, as it battled to block out RDP’s second goal by Sibusiso Vilakazi.

RDP continued to dominate the first half, and although Verbal Warning made attempts to put its name on the score board before the end of the first half, it was not to be.

At half time the score remained at 2-0 with RPD still in leading position.

As the second kicked off the lead team stuck to its structure of play and intensified on its defence.

Verbal Warning attempted to strike several times but its opponent just seemed to be more alert on the day, as it did not let the ball pass the back line.

The failure to penetrate the defense of RPD saw it walk away goalless.

The two teams will battle it out again in the second leg of the semi-final on Sunda, in a match to be held at the Malandela Ground in Tsakane.
