Eastern Ghana’s and Home Defenders draw

KwaThema – There were no winners in the Premier League match between Eastern Ghana’s and Home Defenders as both sides had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

The match that was played on Sunday took place at the KwaThema Sports Complex.

Both teams kicked off the first half in high spirits and fought hard to strike the opening goal that would at least put them in the leading position of this game.

This strategy seemed to work as both side attempted to score goals numerous times, though most chances were missed.

At about 15 minutes before the whistle blew for the end of the first half, Tshepo ‘Ronaldo’ Makopo (22) of Eastern Ghana’s put his team in the lead with the opening goal.

This, however, did not break the spirits of Home Defenders, as in the second half they just fought harder to bag their goal.Even the harsh rain could not dampen the fighting spirit of the supporters, nor did it distract the players as they hung on until it stopped.

As Home Defenders seemed to be more hungry to get back into the game and make it on the score sheet, it intensified pressure and this was fruitful as Musa Ngoma (24) was finally able to sneak in an equalising goal for his team.

The game ended with both teams walking away with one point each.
