Rain causes game to stop

Kwatsaduza - The KwaThema and Duduza cricket teams faced off in the Promotion League on Sunday at the Old Springs’ Boys, where the game was drawn due to the rain.

Duduza, winning the toss, opted to bat, with Mongezi Sithole scoring 31 runs and his partner Sibonisiwe Beya making 24 runs.

Kagiso Mogale also managed to contribute to the final score by scoring 29 runs.

The KwaThema bowlers worked hard, with Xolane Shongwe’s nine overs consisting of three maidens, four wickets and 16 runs.

Lesedi Sereme took two wickets in his eight overs and a maiden.

Mpho Mnguni’s took two wickets in 6,1 overs and Hope Soko bowled eight overs, taking the final two wickets, which meant Duduza’s final score was 126 after 36,1 overs.

Duduza’s bowling spell consisted of Kagiso Mogale and Mongezi Sithole taking two wickets in one over and one wicket in four overs respectively.

KwaThema was ready to bat, with Mazamo Mboqo scoring 12 runs, Albert Mohlala scoring eight runs and Nkosana Mqoco scoring 25 runs unbeaten.

Due to the rain, the match ended with KwaThema on 45 runs and seven wickets remaining after only eight overs being bowled.
