Xolani is ready to fight

KwaThema - Local boxer Xolani Mvubu, from the GeoMaroon Boxing Club, is confident he will win his fight against Port Elizabeth’s Bongani Mlotshwa, in the World Boxing Federation (WBF) elimination round, on December, 18.

After winning against East London’s Simphiwe Lusizi in the South African titles, last month, Mvubu says there is no stopping him.

“I’m currently working on my fitness and diet so I’m physically strong for the fight,” he explains.

“This will be my last fight for the year and I want it to be memorable.”

Currently weighing 72kg, he will be fighting in the middleweight division.

Mvubu promises his followers an entertaining fight and possibly a knockout in the first two rounds.

His trainer, Themba Zulu, says he is more than confident that Mvubu will win his last fight of the year, as he has shown commitment in all his matches.

“Mvubu had a good year, winning two of four fights, losing one and drawing one,” he adds.

“He will continue to train throughout the festive season, so that he is well prepared for the year ahead.”
