Valencia FC to represent KwaThema in ABC Motsepe League

KwaThema - Valencia Football Club (FC) is hard at work training for the upcoming ABC Motsepe League which is set to start soon.

According to team manager Lucky Mahlangu, the squad, formed four years ago, has only an open team.

The team started campaigning in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League last season, and managed to win, giving them an opportunity to qualify for the ABC Motsepe League.

“Our 28 dedicated players work hard and this has paid off.

“The boys train in the morning and afternoon and, though our main challenge is that some of them come from far, this has not stopped us from pushing ourselves,” says Mahlangu.

As this will be the team’s first season in the ABC Motsepe League, they are determined and serious about winning and gaining promotion to the National First Division League.

Mahlangu says the team’s first game in this league will take place at 3pm on September 19, at the KwaThema Stadium, against Soweto Panthers FC.

“As we are the second team to campaign in this league after African All Stars, from Tsakane, we ask for the community to support us on this journey,” Mahlangu says.

Valencia FC boasts of having players such as Bheki Shabangu from Santos, Stober Ntsoane who is a former African All Stars player and Sizwe Madlala, who is currently the team captain.
