Tsakane take Uheshe Cup

Tsakane - Last Saturday the Tsakane Rugby Club were crowned Uheshe Cup Champions at the Barnard Stadium, in Kempton Park.

The local rugby team played against Katlehong Rugby Club in the league’s final match and Tsakane managed a 20-17 victory at the 11th hour.

At full time, the teams were even, but during extra time, Tsakane were granted two tries, which they utilised to make them the league champions.

Since the team have won the cup, they will be playing in the Kestrel League next year.

Tsakane’s team captain Bhuti Nhlapo (22), says he is happy the team fought to the end and never gave up.

“The match was one of the toughest we have played this season, we really pushed ourselves and I’m really thankful it paid off,” says Nhlapo.
