Valencia advances to Motsepe League

Kwatsaduza - Valencia has officially been promoted to the ABC Motsepe League.

The Valencia team took the momentum as 2015 SAB League champions into a successful ABC Motesepe League play-off campaign.

The team started the play-offs in Pretoria, on July 18, and played in four games against four teams from other provinces.

Team official, Thembinkosi Mtoyintoni, says the team won their first game 2-0 against Tuks and their second game 4-2 against Vaal University.

Valencia suffered their one and only loss 2-1 against Mofolo BT Stars.

In their final game, the Ekurhuleni team beat Dube Continental 4-2 to advance to the ABC Motsepe League next season.

Mtoyintoni says qualifying to play in the Motsepe League means more hard work for the team and officials.

“Because we will be playing at a higher level, we need to ensure that our players are always mentally and physically prepared for their games,” says Mtoyintoni.

He acknowledges the support that the team receives from their fans and soccer officials from other teams in and around Kwatsaduza.

“The team would not be where it is today if it wasn’t for the support of the fans and those who believed in the team and encouraged us to keep fighting to fly the Kwatsaduza soccer flag,” says Mtoyintoni.

He invites players who are interested to join the team for their two-day trials at the KwaThema Sports Complex on August 8 and August 9 from 8am.

Players are advised to bring their own soccer playing kit to the trials.
