Wheelchair tennis players compete in tournament

KwaThema – Eight wheelchair tennis players from the KwaThema Disabled Club took part in the Pretoria Open Tennis Tournament held on Saturday.

Zakhele Tshole, Charlie Skhosana, Mbali Mavuso, Tumi Dlamini, Ranana and Motikoe Mokoena competed in the junior category, while Isaac Mthombeni and Sibusiso Khuzwayo represented the club in the senior category.

According to the club chairman, Aubrey Mathibela, the players did their best and he is happy about their performance.

He says that despite them not winning, taking part in the tournament gave them more confidence and the chance to learn from other players.

“We learned new tricks and we are now looking forward to the next tournaments which we will be taking part in before the end of the year,” says Mathibela.
