Cross country runners prepare for SA Champs

Kwatsaduza - More than 30 athletes from Kwatsaduza Athletics Club recently participated in the fifth Central Gauteng Athletics Cross Country League race.

The race was held at Sinaba Stadium in Daveyton on Saturday, and more than 500 athletes from around the province competed.

Twenty club athletes from different age groups managed to obtain second positions.

Club chairman Sparks Moagi says he is proud of the athletes, who have already competed in four different cross country races this year.

In preparation for the SA Championships to be held in Mpumalanga in September, Moagi says the runners will go on a two-day training camp in Vosloorus this week.

“After the camp, I have no doubt the runners will be ready for the next races, which will be held on July 4 in Westonaria, and July18 at Thokoza Park in Soweto,” says Moagi.
