Five local soccer players selected for the SAB squad

Kwatsaduza - Five soccer players from different local teams in the SAB League have been chosen to play in the SAB provincial squad.

Nkululeko Khumalo (20), Mbulelo Landi (19), Sibusiso Khauoe (20), Thabang Sibanyoni (19) and Tshepo Nkabinde (18) were selected on June 9, during trials at the KwaThema Stadium, for the SAB u/21 provincial team.

The selected players are now training hard to prepare for their first game, which will be played on Sunday, at Soshanguve Stadium.

“Their team will be playing to be crowned the champions of all nine provincial squads,” says Siphiwe Shabalala, team manager for local club Bolivia.

He says Kwatsaduza is proud of the players’ achievements, as they are from Bolivia, Valencia and the Ace Auto Ayoba teams, in Kwatsaduza.

Shabalala believes the selected players will not only represent the province and Kwatsaduza, but will bring back dignity to the local teams for which they play in the SAB League.

Innocent Mayoyo, an Ekurhuleni soccer technical officer, could not hide his excitement about the achievement.

He encourages the players to perform to the best of their ability.

“This is their chance to show the country what they’re capable of,” he says.
