Local athletes to the national champs

More than ten athletes from the Kwatsaduza Athletics Club will take part in the national secondary schools championships.

They left Kwatsaduza yesterday to go to Rustenburg to get ready for their two day race starting today (Friday).

The race will be held at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

These young athletes will be competing in the national secondary schools championships after their victory on Sunday at the Germiston Stadium.

Among those who will be taking part in the competition is Thabo Masina from the club.

Thabo has recently been crowned the best provincial secondary school male athlete.

He received a championship trophy after winning the race on Sunday following many previous races in which he was never defeated.

Speaking about his achievement, Thabo said he is proud to be crowned the provincial champion and that he will continue to work hard.

“I am lucky to have been able to realize my talent at an early age and promise to continue working hard,” he said.

He thanked his family, coaches and other athletes from the club for the support they give him.
