Tumelo is a brother to his five siblings and a young boxer with big dreams.
He fell in love with boxing when he was still in primary school.
To ensure that he grows in this port, Tumelo trains four times a week at the Geo Maroon Boxing Club in KwaThema.
He says the support that he gets from his family is what keeps him focused and eager to go higher in this sport.
“Nothing beats my family’s support, it pushes me to fight harder when I am facing the opponent,” says Tumelo.
Adding that his relationship with all the boxers at Geo Maroon and their coach is also what encourages him to love what he does.
He says his involvement in sport keeps him busy and helps him avoid being involved in activities that might land him in prison.
On Saturday, Tumelo was announced the winner after he knocked down his opponent during their fight in Johannesburg.
His victory opened doors for him to be able to fight at a professional level.
Tumelo says he is looking forward to his next fights.
