A draw between Reedville and Sweepers

Soccer fans in Kwatsaduza celebrated the kick off of the Springs Local Football Association (SLFA) games, after a short break over the festive season, on Saturday.

The games are played at the KwaThema Sports Complex every weekend.

On Saturday, the U/15 game played was between the Reedville and the Springs Home Sweepers was a difficult match for both teams.

It was the matter of who spent more time during the training sessions to prepare for the game.

After a few weeks of rest, the players were not fit enough for the game.

Because no team wanted a defeat, the first half of the game ended with neither team being able to score.

With only 10 minutes on the clock after the start of the second half, Sweepers’ Ntokozo Maseko put the ball behind the net.

Lethabo Digoro of Reedville did what he is best known for when he scored a goal.

The game continued and the hot sun on the day did not affect the players who were hungry for a win.

The Sweepers’ second goal was scored by Banele Nkosi.

Just when everyone thought  Sweepers was taking home a win, Reedville’s Kitso Khoza surprised the soccer fans when he scored an equalising goal that slipped from the Sweepers’ goalie.

The game’s overall score was 2-2.
