“We are ready for the league,” says Tiaan Botha, coach of the Young Stars United U/13, U/15 and U/16 teams.
He says the Young Stars United U/13 team played 30 matches in 2014, of which they won 22, drew 2 and lost 6.
“We are looking to have an even better record in 2015,” says Tiaan.
With 9 goals in only 5 matches was Lwazi Makaula the U/13 team’s highest goal scorer in 2014.
Karabo “Balo” Mothlaping and Thabiso Singo were chosen as the best two players of the U/13 squad of 2014.
Tiaan says the Young Stars United recently signed four new players Kamogelo Mphali (U/13), Siyabonga Ntuli (U/13), Sihle Mnisi (U/13) and Thuto Monde (U/15).
The teams will be in action in pre-season friendly matches from noon this Saturday at the soccer field of Olympia Park.
Tiaan says they are looking forward to the Eastern Springs Local Football Association league that will start on February 28.
