Local disabled club to go to many championships

The KwaThema Disabled Club hopes to continue to be the pride of KwaThema.

Eleven athletes from the club are expected to take part in the National Nedbank Championship for the physically disabled in March at the University of Johannesburg.

Next week, four members of the club, Katlego Makhwela, Simon Mbonani, Monica Ngwenya and Thapelo Motsape will be flying to Port Elizabeth for the wheelchair tennis championships that will be played on December 14.

Thando Nhlapho and Bongani Mgidi will be taking part on the SA schools’ games that will be held in Pretoria from December 10 until December 15.

Club’s chairman, Aubrey Mathibela, thanked the athletes’ parents and the community for their support.

“We are not doing it for us, but for the people of Kwatsaduza and our love for sport,” said Mathibela.
