Sipho scores a winning goal for World XI

RDP and World XI played their Tsamaya second round game on Sunday at Malandela Ground in Tsakane.

The sky was blue, sun shining bright and the players seemed fit and ready for the challenge.

Despite the readiness and the fitness of the players, in a soccer game there can only be one winner if the game does not end with a draw and it was the case with this game.

During the first half of the game, RDP was in control, attacking and defending and denying the World XI a chance to score.

The first goal of RDP was scored by Madoda Mgezana.

When the whistle was blown to end the first half, RDP was leading by one goal.

Just like during all the other games played by the World XI, Abinar Mokoena usually referred to by the other players and supporters as a scoring machine for the World XI, tricked RDP’s goalie and scored the first goal for his team.

Abinar’s goal changed the game.

Players were not only kicking the ball on the field but became angry and more hungry for a win.

They were kicking and pushing each other, all done in an attempt to win the game.

An equal score of 1-1 was broken by one of the youngest and best players of World XI, Sipho Mtshweni when he scored a second goal for the team.

After Sipho’s goal, World XI built a much stronger defence to ensure that the RDP does not break its walls and equalise with them.

World XI won the game against the RDP by 2-1.

Here are the results for the other games that were played on the day:

Skomboys 1 – City Royals 0

Sporo 2 – Deep level 0

Thembi 2 – Tsakane 2
