Grappling comes to Springs

Come see the best amateurs and pro-amateur athletes competing in the sport.

Springs will be hosting the fourth annual cage wars event at the Springs Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday.

Athletes from across South Africa’s best gyms will be competing in the event, containing the best amateurs and pro-amateur athletes competing in the sport.

The cage wars event was started in Europe in 1995, as part of the European Promotion of Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts and was brought to South Africa after receiving a massive appeal from crowds.

This event aims to provide a platform for young up-and-coming athletes in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts.

This is a platform to showcase the talent and hard work of local fighters and also to hone the fighters’ skills by competing against the best South Africa.

This cage wars event has been aired on multiple channels across the globe, which lends prestige to the event and the country.

The doors to November 22’s event will open at 4pm, with the fighting starting at 6pm.

Tickets at R100 for adults, R15 for U/18s and free for pre-schoolers are available at the door.
