Young boxers win
About eight young boxers from the Geo Maroon Boxing Club competed in a boxing tournament, held in Boksburg.
The amateurs fought on last Saturday to keep the flag of KwaThema flying high, following all the other fights they have won.
Siyabulela Vikisi, Thembelani Nkosi, Khumbulani Makwe and Sabelo Nzwanzwa are four of the eight boxers who won their fights.
One of the boxers, Siyabulela Vikisi (12), says he has never lost a fight since he joined the club three years ago.
“I know that when I grow up I will not be just a boxer, but the one who will register only wins under my name,” says a confident Siya.
Coach and the founder of the Geo Maroon, Themba Zulu, is also confident that his boys will grow up to be the best boxers in the country.
“My boys have never disappointed me and I know that they will continue to make me proud,” says Zulu.
