Two girls dream to play for Banyana-banyana

Two girls from KwaThema say they will not allow anything to stand on their way to fulfilling their dream.

Lesego Sibano (13) and Banele Maseko (13) say they started playing soccer at the age of eight and that they are working towards living their dream.

Lesego is currently playing for the Ayoba-YoYouth Soccer Academy while Banele is playing for the Springs Home Sweepers.

After the two girls played in the Regional Soccer Women’s Festival held in Elspark two weeks ago, they were selected to represent Ekurhuleni in the Provincial Soccer Women’s Festival held in Pretoria on Saturday.

Speaking about her future in football, Banele said she will continue working hard to ensure that in the next few years she joins the Banyana-banyana team.

“Nothing will also stop me from reaching my goal of playing in the national women’s soccer team,” says a confident Lesego.

She says she believes that focus, dedication and hard work are the important ingredients of getting to where she wants to be.
