Izinyoka to play in the Vodacom League

Izinyoka are the new SAB League champions

Izinyoka FC was not only crowned the SAB League’s champions, but was also promoted to play on the next level.

Proud team’s PRO, Tshepo Tlagae said the energy and the spirit that the players and the team’s management put in to prepare for the league, are what put them on top.

Following their 2-1 victory against Sampdoria FC and winning 1-0 against Vaal Milano on Sunday at the Nike Centre in Soweto, Izinyoka was promoted to play in the ABC Motsepe League, known as Vodacom League.

“The boys played very well and did not only make Duduza proud but the whole of Ekurhuleni,” said Tlagae.

The team also has another reason to celebrate after Thembinkosi Mbamba, Baphiwe Sibeko, Sthembiso Hlophe and Phillip Ndlondlo were selected to represent Gauteng in the SAB League National Championships that are currently being played in the North West.

Tlagae thanked the metro for the support that they got throughout the season and their supporters.

However, Tlagae is worried about the high cost that they will be faced with now that they will be playing in the Vodacom League.

Team manager Sizwe Nqubezelo appealed for sponsorship for the team in order to be able to cover all the costs that will come with their promotion.

“We will need transport to different games,” said Nqubezelo.

Anyone interested in supporting the team as they will be playing in the Vodacom League should contact Tshepo Tlagae on 082 703 4486.
