KwaThema’s pride
The KwaThema Disabled Club has chosen its team for the Ekurhuleni Awards to take place today.
The team, consisting of Lefa Gova, Bongani Mgidi, Sibusiso Khuzwayo and Thapelo Motsapi, will be competing against five other teams in the team of the year category.
Lefa Gova, member of the club is also nominated as the sportsman of the year in the people with disability category.
Aubrey Mathibela, club’s chairman says winning an award will not only mean the success of the club but will fly high the flag of KwaThema.
He says after taking home the second prize during the Gauteng Sports Awards last year he is also confident that the club will also take home the Ekurhuleni Award.
Lefa says, knowing his talent and soccer skills, he also promises the community of KwaThema that he will do his best to win the award. “Being nominated for such a big award, to me it is a great achievement already,” says an excited Lefa. The awards ceremony will be held at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg from 6.30pm.
