Should Eskom be privatised? | African Reporter

Clifton Molale: “Eskom needs proper management, and those guilty of maladministration should be fired and prosecuted, lots of things will then change for the better.”

Rebecca Ndlovu: “They should seek assistance because clearly the load is too much for them, and we have had enough poor service from the government. At the end of the day, it is us who suffer the most.”

Sinnah Mahlangu: “Already the amount of money we are using to buy electricity is high. Therefore I see no reason for them not to privatise Eskom. Even during load-shedding we are still paying large sums for money which we never use to pay.”

Cwelakhe Dludlu: “The government needs to come up with a plan to raise capital because privatisation is going to affect us negatively, private partners will want to make money.”

Kgotso Mpolokeng: “Eskom should not be privatised because electricity won’t be affordable for ordinary South African, and those in government are the reason for Eskom’s woes so why should we be the ones paying for greedy individuals.”

Mathapelo Mokoana: “I am not sure which option would be best for us as a country, but one thing for sure is that we are suffering and this is not fair because we are paying lots of money via tax.”

KIng Skosana: “They should make it a private enterprise. This load-shedding is ruining our electronics. Small businesses are badly affected and it is depressing.”

Christina Dlamini: “I think investors will be good for Eskom because South Africa is highly overpopulated and we are all looking to the government for proper service delivery. At the moment the government cannot afford to resolve every issue we have.”shp
