Tsakani – Tsakani Police Station is the only station in Kwatsaduza that has made it into the top 30 stations in the country for various crimes.
The grim picture of the crime stats was released by Minister of Police Bheki Cele recently.
The stats revealed that out of the 6 228 people killed between April and June, 1 188 were reported to be women and children.
Moving closer to home, Tsakani Police Station occupied position 26 with 139 cases of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (assault GBH).
This is a four-case difference from the 135 that was reported last year. The station made it to position 25 in the robbery at non-residential premises with 22 reported.
This is an increase of eight cases from the 2022 stats, the highest in the last five years.
There were no increases in cases of malicious damage to property with 101 cases reported during the period. The station occupies position 29.
102 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs were reported with a 12 case difference from the same period last year.
