Six arrested for dealing drugs

Six suspects will appear before various magistrate's courts for dealing in drugs.

Kwatsaduza – Six suspects aged between 20 and 29 were arrested by members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit for possession and possible dealing in illegal substances, in the Duduza and Tsakani areas, on Tuesday.

The officers cornered a 29-year-old man on the corner of Mzimande and Khumalo streets in Duduza, with 20 ziplock bags of CAT, valued at R600.

In another incident along Molise Street, a 27-year-old man was intercepted with nine full and six half Mandrax tablets, valued at R600.

Along Moloi Street, members confiscated 10 ziplock bags of crystal meth, valued at R1 500, from a 24-year-old man.


Four arrested for dealing in drugs


EMPD spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa said the officers also received information from members of the community about a residence in Coolbreeze section of Duduza suspected to be a safe house for drug dealing activity.

“On arrival officers discovered 293 ziplock bags of dagga as well as R35 in cash.

“As the operation continued in the Tsakani area, a 30-year-old male suspect was cornered on Madina Street in Ext 19 and was found in possession of one ziplock bag of CAT, valued at R200,” she added.

The six suspects will appear in the respective magistrate’s courts soon.
