Stolen Ford Ranger recovered in Tsakani

“The man is facing charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Tsakani– A man was arrested for having a stolen vehicle on Wednesday afternoon.
EMPD officers received information about a stolen double cab bakkie driving around in the area.
Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa, EMPD spokesperson, said the Ford Ranger double cab, reported stolen in Actonville, was spotted on Mohlare Street at Ext Eight, with one occupant before it was stopped and the driver cornered.

“The driver alleged he was requested by some guys to take the vehicle to the nearest carwash.
“He was arrested on the spot and is facing charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He was transported to the Tsakane Police Station,” she said.

He is expected to appear in the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court soon.
The stolen vehicle was taken to the Benoni area at the Van Ryns’ Deep police yard for safekeeping.
