Total success boxers show what they are made of during tournament

Tsakani – Total Success Boxing Club boxers competed at a tournament held at Eden Park Boxing Club on Saturday.

All three local boxers put their best punches forward and walked away as champions in their categories.

In the bantamweight category, Blessing “The Bee” Mopelwa (11) fought against Desande Labuschagne from Brakpan Boxing Club. Mbolewa won his fight on points in the third round.

Mthokozisi “Challenge” Xundu brought his A game to the ring against Brakpan Boxing Club’s Eusena Scholtz in the 14-year-old category. He walked away as the champ.

In the elite category, which includes boxers aged 19 years and older, Total Success Boxing Club boxer Thando

“Game Changer” Mtiya was in the ring against Ndlovu Thophilus from Gym Clinic Boxing Club.

In the second round, Ndlovu struggled to stand on his feet and his trainer apologised on his behalf and threw in the towel.

Club coach Lwazi Xundu said he is happy with the performances of the boxers.

“They displayed all the techniques that I taught them during our training sessions. We showed that we are working hard to deserve the titles,” he said.

He added that any boxer who is matched with a Total Success Boxing Club boxer must know they are in for a fight.

Lwazi added that even though they don’t have a place to train and lack equipment, they are not allowing this to get in the way of excelling. The coach is encouraging anyone interested in joining the team to come forward.
