The residents of Lerutle Street in Tornado made a gruesome discovery on Thursday morning.
The body of an elderly man was found a street away from his home around 05:00.
It is unclear how long he had been there.
According to some of those who were first at the scene, there was blood close to the man’s head.

They added the blood seemed to be coming from the back of his head.
However, Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said there were no visible injuries on the victim’s body.
An inquest docket has been opened for further investigation, and to establish the cause of death.
The family of the victim is appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
