Duduza – The Motaung family is reeling with grief after their 19-year-old daughter was stabbed by her childhood friend on Monday.
It is alleged the suspect (18) found Basetsana Motaung in her boyfriend’s bedroom seated on his bed and a fight ensued.
She allegedly stabbed Basetsana multiple times in the upper body.
Basetsana was declared dead at the scene.
Basetsana’s grandmother Selina Senoko said her granddaughter didn’t deserve to die in that cruel manner.

“She led a destructive lifestyle and didn’t want to listen to reason but didn’t deserve the pain.
“It is sad because two friends were still young, had small children and still have a lot to live for,” she added.
Duduza police spokesperson Sergeant Harry Manaka said Motaung was confirmed dead by paramedics on the scene.
“The suspect was arrested and a case of murder was opened for further investigation. She is expected to appear before the Nigel Magistrate’s Court soon,” he added.
