Gauteng Provincial Government Hosts a Tech Expo to bring ICT opportunities to the youth of Ekurhuleni

The expo will provide the youth with ICT opportunities, learnerships and internships as well as mentorship for SMME owners.

In a step to address unemployment issues that have negatively affected young people in Townships, Informal Settlements and Hostels (TISH), the Gauteng department of e-Government will be hosting a Youth Tech Expo, on Monday, 12 December 2022 at East Rand School of Arts, Daveyton, in Benoni.

The Youth Tech Expo takes place in order to empower the youth by contributing towards youth employment and youth entrepreneurship. The Gauteng Department of e-Government has partnered with various organisations in the Business sector as well as NGOs, who will be part of the expo in order to unlock opportunities for the youth. This will include providing the youth with ICT opportunities, learnerships and internships as well as mentorship for SMME owners.

The youth is invited to be part of the event in order to ascertain opportunities available for them as well as to learn more about the ICT sector. Delegates from government, private ICT sectors, SMMEs, ICT entrepreneurs, and township-based digital entrepreneurs will be in attendance.
