Kasi Football tournament to take place over the festive season

Upward Spiral 1471 Festival Cup Kasi Football tournament will take place from December 16 until January 4 in Tsakani.

Tsakani – Whitey Tshowa is organising their Upward Spiral 1471 Festival Cup Kasi Football tournament to be held at Malandela Ground in Tsakani from December 16 to 31.

The semi-final and final games will be at the Tsakani Stadium on January 3 and 4. Tshowa said the idea behind this tournament is to give back to the community in an impactful way through sports.

“This tournament is huge; we always invite teams from all over the province to partake in our tournament games.

The reason our tournament ends on January 4 is to keep the community occupied and away from boredom,” said Tshowa.

He added the tournament would accommodate U13, U15 and senior teams, saying the idea is to give back and motivate and inspire youngsters who are into sports.

• Masters teams will also participate, but the affiliation fee and prize will be announced during the tournament launch.

He said the tournament aims to bring forward community upliftment by allowing street vendors to sell food and other refreshment to spectators during the games at no additional cost.

“There will be a play area and refreshments for children during the semi-final and final games. We encourage teams to affiliate on time to avoid disappointment. Teams that have not paid affiliation fees will not be added to the fixtures,” Tshowa added.
